Introduction

"Sometimes I wish it never came to me."

The words of Frodo crossed our minds regularly while waiting for a reply from the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. After two months of waiting the release came through a messenger on a bike, the postman.
The verdict:
"The painting could not be attributed to Vincent van Gogh".

OK, so be it, the brochures for the Jeep are dumped.
Next telling the children that it's not a Van Gogh, resulting in the, for parents well-known, question:
"Why?"......
"Because of stylistic differences with the other paintings from Van Gogh."
"?"

This site is made for two purposes:

1. To find prove that the painting is not the lost painting which Vincent refers to in his second letter from Drenthe.

"I am enclosing a sketch of my first painted study from this neighbourhood, a cottage on the heath. A cottage made entirely of only turfs and sticks."

2. As we say in the Netherlands "Ter leringhe ende vermaeck". This is an old dutch saying wich can be translated as "For learning and fun".

Everyone, from dummy to expert, is invited to share his or her thoughts on the subject.
Those views will be incorporated into this site. (Names only after permission of course).
We also hope to find some answers on questions we have. These questions, regarding various subjects, can be found throughout the site.

Besides finding the truth we hope to create a paper discussion and website of interest for many.
